The Core Team is a full-time, high-engagement opportunity where every action is ministry. Team members are called to a full-time, Christ-centered mission of serving vulnerable camper families, requiring spiritual readiness, absolute flexibility, and conduct that is above reproach in all interactions and duties.

We are still in need of one female Core Team Resident Assistant, July 16 – August 9. For more information about the RA position, please review details below.

Core Team Applications have re-opened for the 2026 season. We are looking to add the following to each Core Session:

Core Team June 17 – July 16: 1-2 Males, No Females
Core Team July 16 – August 9: 2-3 Males, 1-2 Females

  • When do Core Applications open and close?
    • Applications open yearly on November 15th. Closing deadline is determined on a year-to-year basis.
  • What are the age requirements for Core Volunteers?
    • 16 – 21

  • Volunteer Service Hours:
    • Upon completion of service, volunteer hours will be calculated and a certificate of volunteer hours will be issued. Additionally, a letter of recommendation may be requested and you may you utilize your team leads as references.
  • I know serving on Core is considered a short term missions trip, is there a fee?
    • Each Core member will have a Missions Trip fee of $300. Those who petition and are approved to serve both session sets will have a fee of $500. A $50 non-refundable deposit will be due when you complete your UltraCamp registration. The Core remaining balance will be due by May 31, 2026. Fees will include two Core t-shirts.
    • Core Members may submit a scholarship request. This request must be submitted by between May 1st – May 15th, 2026.
    • Each Core member is asked and encouraged to raise their Mission Trip fee through fundraising. Each team member will be asked to send a minimum of 10 support letters to family and friends. Core Leadership will discuss fundraising opportunities and suggestions during the Core Meet & Greet Zoom. We are here to help you with this process!
  • Are there any additional costs associated with serving on Core?
    • Extra Core t-shirts may be purchased for $12 each.
    • It is recommended to plan for extra spending money to utilize in the Smiley Shack, weekend outings and meals/snacks outside of the camp program. A breakdown will be provided as camp nears.
  • How many Core Team Members will serve for each session?
    • There will be 10-12 Core Team Members for each session, with a breakdown of 5-6 guys and gals for each session.
  • What does the application process include?
    • Phase 1: Core Applicants will complete an application, written testimony and provide two references (one personal/educator and one pastoral).
    • Phase 2: Applications will be reviewed, those chosen for Phase 2 will participate in a Zoom Interview.
    • Phase 3: Chosen applicants will be offered a place on the Core Team.
  • Who oversees the Core Team?
    • The Core Team is overseen by the Core Team Leads (typically a couple) and two Resident Assistant’s (one male, one female, age 21+).
  • Where will I stay?
    • Core members stay in a designated sleeping area which will be supervised by a Resident Assistant (RA).
  • May I leave during my time of service to attend practice, school, church or family events, such as a vacation or camp?
    • No, we ask that all applicants be willing to commit to either Session 1 – 4 or Session 5 – 7 entirely. This provides continuity and structure to the team and the families being served. Please review the session dates carefully and determine which session would best fit your summer schedule.
  • Will I have access to my phone?
    • Phones will be checked in at a designated time, upon arrival, and stored in the camp office. Access will be allowed at designated times. Devices are not allowed in the sleeping areas, which include, but not limited to, phones, tablets, laptops and gaming systems.
  • I am applying for the Core Team, can I serve both sessions?
    • Those who wish to serve all 7 sessions may petition the Camp Director, Executive Director, and Board of Directors to serve all 7 sessions.
  • Can I be a Buddy?
    • Yes! Core Members are welcome to serve as a Buddy during the sessions they are not serving on the Core Team.

  • Phase 1: Applications Accepted

    • All applicants notified if they are moving to Phase 2 for a Zoom interview: On-going

    • Completion of Online Registration: Within two weeks of joining the Core Team.
    • Core Missions Fee Non-Refundable Deposit of $50: Within two weeks of joining the Core Team.

  • Core Zoom Info and Training Sessions:
    • Team Alpha, Team Omega and the RA’s will meet together on Zoom.
    • Meet & Greet: February 22nd, 7:30 – 9 PM
    • Setting the Stage – Growing in God, Policies & Procedures: March 1st, 7 – 9 PM
    • Loft Life, Weekends & the Day-to-Day: April 19th, 7 – 9 PM
    • Odds & Ends & This & That: May 17th, 7:30 – 9 PM
    • Core Team Members who join the team after the completed training sessions will receive recorded training sessions. Additional Zoom dates may be added.

    • The Core RA is setting an example to the Core Team. Phones will be checked in at a designated time, upon arrival, and stored in the camp office. Access will be allowed at designated times. Due to the nature of the role, the Core RA will have more flexibility with their device usage. Devices are not allowed in the sleeping areas, which include, but not limited to, phones, tablets, laptops and gaming systems.

We are thrilled to share the Rod & Vickie Robinson will be serving as Camp Attitude’s Core Team Coordinators for Summer 2026. They joined the Camp Attitude summer volunteer staff in 2025 and have been an incredible blessing. In addition to serving as the Core leads, they also serve as Camp’s Campus Chaplain.
