Volunteer: Frequently asked questions

Camp Attitude’s registration process is completed online via UltraCamp. If you prefer to sign waivers and forms in person, they will be available when you arrive.

If you are volunteering with your church:

Please use the link provided by your church leader to register. You can still register as a family with one log-in, but you will need to re-click your link to add family members to complete all of the forms. If you have trouble, please contact director@campattitude.com

When registering a student who is under 18:

  • Parents, please enter your information first and create a login. We need parent information in our system in case of emergency, but this will not register you for camp.
  • Then click “add person” and add your student’s information. When you have entered your student’s information, it will give you an option to register your student for camp.
  • Click “Independent Volunteer Registration”
  • It will ask if you want to add additional family members (you can add siblings if they are also serving, or just click no)
  • Select the week(s) you want to serve
  • There will be forms to complete including emergency contact, letter of recommendation, medications and background check. The system requires something here, but we will not run background checks for minors. You can put the number 987-65-4321if you do not want to put your minor’s ss number. All background check applications received for minors will be deleted.
  • You will also be prompted to digitally sign a liability waiver, lake day waiver, and code of conduct. Please read carefully.
  • When all forms are complete, it will prompt a “proceed to payment” where you can pay just the $30 minimum fee, and pay the rest with cash, check or credit card when you arrive at camp, or you can pay in full, prior to arrival.

Camp Attitude requires a background check for all individual’s 18+, who are staying overnight, to complete a background check. This is required of all staff, volunteers (including buddies who are 18+), family members and adult campers with special needs. The background check is completed around May 1st yearly and Camp Attitude pays all fees. Effective 2026, background checks are completed every other year for all volunteers. If you volunteered in 2025, you will NOT need to complete a background check.

Formal volunteer registration opens yearly on February 1st and closes on June 1st. After June 1st, we will recruit volunteers on an as needed basis via email, social media and the website, etc.

If you are a group of 10 or more, please reach out to Camp Director. Camp Attitude has multiple churches and youth groups that commit to a particular camp session, typically by January 1st yearly. Groups are welcome to commit to volunteer at any time.

If you are volunteering with a group, you will receive specific registration information from your group leader.

Yes, independent volunteers are welcome and this includes Buddies and Servants. Please note that not all sessions may be available.

Yes, families may register to volunteer on the Servant Team. Please note that not all sessions may be available.

Church groups, youth groups, school groups, including homeschool groups, and other groups are welcome to serve. Please reach out to Camp Director for more information: director@campattitude.com.

References must be completed by an individual that is not related to you or a part of the Camp Attitude staff. Ideally, we recommend references be filled out by a pastor, youth pastor, Biblical mentor, educator or employer.

We have a number of volunteers who attend camp and bring their child with special needs, including those 18 and up. Please note that while we would like to provide a buddy for your volunteer with needs, we can not guarantee it. The weekly buddy count fluctuates and we may not have enough buddies for volunteers with special needs. Please contact the director with any questions.

Camp Attitude operates with a “Camper Families 1st!” mindset. Volunteers may participate in activities, as directed by summer staff. Volunteer participation levels may vary by session, depending on camper counts.

Volunteers stay in the Cottages, Yurts (if available, camper families have priority), personal RV/Travel Trailers or a personal tent. Those staying in a cottage, yurt or personal tent utilize the main bathhouse for toileting and showering needs. Lodging is assigned on a 1st come, 1st serve basis, during volunteer registration.

RV Spaces: Electrical, Water and Sewer Available

Cottages: Electricity, Sink, Mini-Fridge

Yurts: Electricity, Mini-Fridge, Microwave

Some camp sessions will include Lake Day. The activities offered at each lake day will vary, depending on the camper session. Because camp operates with a “Camper Families 1st!” mindset, there may be activities that volunteers are not able to participate in. These activities may include boat tubing, kayaking, paddle boards and the peddle boat. We will do our best to accommodate volunteers, but it can not be guaranteed.

There is a swim area at the lake where the individuals can swim. Life jackets are required for those 13 and under in the swim area. Camp Attitude reserves the right to request those 13+ to wear a life jacket, if needed. All individuals are required to wear life jackets while riding on a boat and other non-motorized activities. Life jackets are provided by camp, but families are welcome to bring their own US Coast Guard approved life jackets.

We also have hot weather games planned that will require the use of water guns. You are welcome to bring your own water toys. We suggest labeling everything you bring!

Please bring modest bathing suits, sunscreen, water shoes, beach towels, and labeled water toys for these activities.

Most camp sessions will include a session of laser tag. Camp Staff will determine which sessions should offer this fun activity.

Many who participate in laser tag wear a costume! If you wish, bring your favorite costume and be prepared to have a great time.

Volunteers are asked to arrive between 5 – 6 PM on their arrival date. Please do not arrive early, as our staff is preparing for the next session of camp. Reminder! There is no food service on Saturdays, so please have dinner prior to arriving or bring a sack dinner.

Volunteer departure time will be dependent on the camp session. Please review the details of the camp session you are volunteering at, noted below.  Please note that those serving as buddies may not depart early, as you are with your camper until we say “See ya later!”.

Airport transportation may be available to/from the Eugene (EUG), with prior arrangement. Transportation is NOT available to Portland (PDX).
